As in previous years, during the summer 2011, the LIFE Project's mobile exhibition for seabirds will embark on a journey to the islands of the North Aegean. The exhibition aims to provide public awareness on the Audouin’s Gull, the Mediterranean Shag and other seabird species as well as on threats faced, actions undertaken within the framework of the Project and the importance of the network of marine protected areas.

 

During the last 10 days of July, the mobile exhibition will travel upon MOm’s vessel “Odysseia” together with the research teams of the Hellenic Ornithological Society and MOm, covering Sporades and the North Aegean, reaching port on all islands.
 
The exhibition comprises of 6 banners with information on the Audouin’s Gull, the Mediterranean Shag, the pelagic seabirds of the Aegean, the LIFE Project for seabirds, the importance of uninhabited islets and the Monk Seal. In addition to the exhibition, informative material will be disseminated at each port.
 
 
The journey of the exhibition commences on the 21st of July in Alonnisos and from there it will move on to Skyros, Lesvos, Limnos, Thasos, Chalkidiki, SKiathos and Skopelos.
